Halloween Weekend Events in the South Bay

Halloween in the South BayWhether you want to join your family and trick-or-treat around the neighborhoods, or join the mayhem taking place at local bars and parties, there will be lots to choose from this year. As Halloween gets closer, the South Bay has some pretty fun traditions that you just don’t find in other communities. Below is a list of all types of Halloween events that will be happening this weekend, fundraisers, parties, pumpkin races, scary sea creatures and more:

Hallo-wine Party at Barsha Wines and Spirits: Thursday, October 24, 2013 – 6PM-10PM – Barsha Wines and Spirits will be hosting a Halloween party on October 24th from 6-10PM. Guests will also participate in a costume contest in which everyone will vote for the best costume of the evening. The winner will be announced at the end of the night and win a $200 gift basket! Put on your most creative costume and join us for finger foods, spirits, and a hauntingly great time! Costumes recommended but not required. Visit our website for more information.

Old Town Music Hall Presents Phantom of the Opera: Friday, October 25, 2013 – Sunday, October 27, 2013 – Where classic silent films have been regularly scheduled in an authentic 1920s movie house with the Mighty Wurlitzer accompanying since 1968. Get your classic horror movie fix this Halloween weekend as the 1925 original version of “Phantom of the Opera” silently creeps upon the screen at the Old Town Music Hall in El Segundo. South Bay Scream Halloween Party: Friday, October 25, 2013 – 9:00 PM – 2:00 AM – The South Bay’s largest and best Halloween extravaganza goes by the moniker of SOUTH BAY SCREAM this year and will go down inside the Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club. HowlOween Hoedown: Saturday, October 26, 2013 – 10:00am-03:00pm – On Oct. 26, 2013 from 10Am-3Pm, the Redondo Beach Dog Park is hosting a ‘HowlOween Hoedown.’There will be a doggie costume parade with prizes, a photo booth, a silent auction, vendors, food, demos, and more!

Switzer Casino Masquerade: Saturday, October 26, 2013 – 6:00pm – 11:00pm – Switzer Learning Center and the Rotary Club of Del Amo invite you to a Casino Masquerade, a fun and exciting evening of dinner, dancing, magic, casino games, costume contest, live and silent auction and open bar! This great fundraising event will take place on Saturday, October 26 from 6:00 to 11:00 at the Norris Pavilion in Rolling Hills Estates. Sea Scare at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium: Saturday, October 26, 2013 – 6:00 – 9:00 PM – Cabrillo Marine Aquarium’s 8th annual Halloween event, SEA SCARE is washing ashore on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. See Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in a different light as it is transformed into an underwater world of chills, thrills and gills. Come in costume and join in the masquerade of ghouls and goblins, trick-or-treat throughout the aquarium, enjoy spooky entertainment and oceans of fun! 23rd Annual World Famous Pumpkin Race in Manhattan Beach: Sunday, October 27, 2013 – 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM – The World Famous Pumpkin races bring their rolling, kinetic pumpkin-mobiles back to Manhattan Beach for an annual 23rd time. Not only can pumpkins be smashed, put into a pie, or made to flavor seasonal brew, they can also race. This October 27th, right after the Sketchers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, customized racing pumpkins will bound down the hill just above the Manhattan Beach Pier.
